Warm up today was 16 questions from an old EOG. We went over the questions and did some mini teaching for each question. This is a great way to over a lot of material and some test taking strategies.
We also reviewed key concepts on the periodic table, metals, non metals and metalloids, and law of conservation of mass and balancing equations.
Next students spent a few minutes completing a chemistry vocabulary handout. This section is extra long, please use this word bank to help you answer the questions. This needs to be finished for homework. It is due Friday!!! Your pink Chemistry review is also due on Friday..
Next we set up our new vocabulary for the Earth History unit. We created flash cards for this unit and put htem in an envelope in our notebooks.
We read pages 11-13 in the EOG booklet and define the following words:
uniformitarianism
Geologic Time Scale
Rock Cycle, convergent
divergent
transform
relative age
absolute age
Law of Superposition
index fossils
fossils
radioactive dating
carbon dating
If you did not finish these words in class, make sure you finish reading and doing the vocabulary for homework.
